Es neurocientífico y autor de los bestsellers internacionales The End of Faith (El Final de la Fe) y Letter to a Christian Nation (Carta a una Nación Cristiana). Es también Co-Fundador y Presidente de The Reason Project (El Proyecto Razón). En 2005, The End of Faith ganó el 2005 PEN Award for Nonfiction (El Premio PEN de no-ficción 2005).
