La Ciudad de las Ideas REQUIRES A PLACE THAT INVITES CREATIVITY, WHERE INNOVATION IS SUPPORTED
– A PROPER PLACE TO PROMOTE THINKING…

Puebla is the oldest colonial city in the Americas, recognized by UNESCO as “City of the Angels” and Cultural
Heritage of Humanity.

Puebla is located 136 kilometers (84 miles) southeast of Mexico City, and has 5,000 colonial buildings, principally in baroque style from the 16th Century, not the least of exemplars is the Cathedral, a perfect sample of the architectural
beauty of the city. The perfect stroke of its convents, parish churches and squares seems to have been painted by the
very hands of angels.

An exceptional geographical location
The fourth most important city of Mexico, it is also the natural bridge between Veracruz – the main port of entry to the
country – and Mexico City – the economical and political center.

An air of innovation
The city is home of outstanding educational centers and universities, such as UDLA (Universidad de las Américas),
UPAEP (Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla) and BUAP (Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de
Puebla). It is important to note that the latter earned the Academic Quality Award in February of 2006, by the National Association
of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES, from its initials in Spanish).

The ideal infrastructure for international events
Puebla’s combination of mysticism and Mexican tradition and first-class infrastructure is perfect to host international
events, because of the international airport, its luxurious hotels and everything that is needed to offer a productive and pleasant
stay.
