Psychologist, Primatologist and Ethologist. He is The Charles Howard Candler Professor of Primate Behavior in the Emory University Psychology Department. He is director of The Living Links Center at the Yerkes National Primate Research Center. He is also member of The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, the United States National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His book Chimpanzee Politics and Our Inner Ape examines human behavior using other primate behavior as a metaphor of human psychology.
