She is coauthor of the best-selling Mistakes were made (but not by ME): Why we justify foolish beliefs, bad decisions, and hurtful acts.

As a social psychologist and writer, she lectures widely on the importance of scientific and critical thinking, and of bringing psychological science to the public arena. She is author of the landmark books Anger: The misunderstood emotion and The Mismeasure of Woman, which won the Distinguished Media Contribution Award from the American Association for Applied and Preventive Psychology. She’s a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, the American Psychological Association, and the Center for Inquiry. She has written many book reviews and articles for The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Times Literary Supplement and other publications.
