          DEBORAH BEREBICHEZ





Deborah Berebichez is an acclaimed scientist and educator whose initiatives to popularize science have impacted thousands of young people around the globe. As the first Mexican woman to graduate with a Ph.D. in physics from Stanford University, she graduated Summa Cum Laude and holds additional degrees in philosophy and theater. She has directed research for the Applied Physics and Mathematics Departments at Columbia University and at the Courant Institute for Mathematics at New York University. She works with her adviser Nobel Laureate Robert Laughlin to promote science and has appeared on media outlets such as Oprah magazine and CNN. She currently works in Wall St. as a risk analyst.
